Join us for a fun-in-the-sun Saturday afternoon barbecue - all food and wine provided!
Come and join your fellow BC wine lovers for some fun in the sun in beautiful Kerrisdale. Members Larry and Maggie have graciously offered to host us again in their gorgeous backyard – the fun includes badminton, bocce, patio, shady trees, and an in-ground salt-water pool!
President Brian will bring some great selections from your own BCWAS wine cellar. There will be something for everyone – reds, whites, Rosés, and probably a bubbly or two as well. Also, chat with author and member John Schreiner at the event and get a hot-off-the-press signed copy of his new book, Icon, for a special BCWAS price at the event – $10 off the $40 list price. Note that John will also be at Marquis Wine Cellars on Wednesday, July 19 introducing his new book if you wish to attend that event (and sample the wines of Tantalus).
In the past, this has been a pot-luck event, but this year, all the food will be provided by our very own corporate member Trish, owner of Casalinga Foods. There will be all kinds of delicious nibbles – you will not go hungry! Highlights will be Steak and Prawn Skewers, Lamb Popsicles, Thai Chicken Skewers, BBQ Ribs, Corn on the Cob, and lots of delicious salads and sweet treats.
BCWAS will provide all the necessary picnic stuff: plates, cutlery, napkins, etc., and of course pitchers of water. Don’t forget to drink lots of water!
What do you need to bring? Your lawn chair or a blanket, and, of course, your appetite. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, and your swimsuit!

I am very pleased to have been part of BCWAS almost right from the beginning – my first event was BCWAS’s third tasting, and I’ve been involved ever since! I am thrilled with all the support that we have from all of the wonderful owners and winemakers in our beautiful province, and of course, BCWAS couldn’t exist without you. Cheers, and see you at the next tasting!
